Microsoft Teams Room installation

LandSec is the UK’s largest commercial property and investment company. It has adapted to a more flexible working style, requiring 22 meeting rooms within its London head office to become Microsoft Teams Rooms.

Ease of use

The critical requirement was that the Teams Rooms had to be easy to use for both LandSec staff and their visitors. As a result, our design team selected the fantastic Crestron Flex UC-CX100T hardware system, along with AVERCAM 540 cameras, for visuals. 

To get the best sound quality, we used Shure MXA710 2ft microphones on walls or ceilings, depending on the room’s shape, size, and acoustics. We utilised existing speakers where possible and installed impressive Shure MXN5W Network & Dante-enabled speakers where needed.

The Shure MXN5W speakers are also POE-powered and require only one cable run back to a local Network switch. Thus, there was no need for a separate amplifier or outboard DSP, saving space and costs.  

Full connectivity

The Crestron Flex system offers complete connectivity via one USB-C cable, making it extremely simple. By connecting to just this one cable, any user can power their device and connect to the in-room camera, microphone and speakers. Once connected, users can also share content on the call and the in-room display. 

As LandSec meeting rooms need to be accessed by a range of different users, the simplicity of this set-up was an absolute winner. The new Teams Rooms are highly accessible and, with superior audiovisual quality, enable seamless virtual or in-house communication.
