Landsec, one of the UK’s largest commercial property development and investment companies, appointed Tateside to modernise the meeting room and workplace technology across its London headquarters at 80–100 Victoria Street. Designed to accommodate approximately 400 employees on a single floor, the office supports a highly collaborative working environment. To further enhance productivity, simplify user experiences and create consistency across the workplace, Landsec embarked on a four-phase AV technology refresh programme. Having previously supported the site, Tateside was selected to redesign and upgrade the organisation’s meeting spaces, collaboration areas and event facilities with a focus on usability, flexibility and future scalability.

The solution introduced a standardised meeting room ecosystem built around Neat, Logitech and Q-SYS technologies, creating a consistent user experience regardless of room size or function. Employees can now enter any meeting space and interact with familiar controls, reducing training requirements and minimising user error. By combining modern video conferencing technology with intelligent control systems and networked AV infrastructure, Tateside created a future-ready workplace capable of supporting hybrid collaboration across every area of the office.

Medium-sized meeting rooms were equipped with wall-mounted Neat Boards featuring integrated touchscreens, wide-angle cameras and built-in audio systems. By consolidating multiple functions into a single device, users can quickly launch meetings without interacting with multiple pieces of equipment. The addition of Neat Pad controllers provides one-touch meeting join functionality, significantly simplifying the user experience.

Larger meeting rooms accommodating up to twelve people were fitted with Neat Bar Pro systems paired with Samsung 65-inch professional displays. This configuration delivers enhanced camera coverage and audio performance while ensuring all participants can clearly see meeting content regardless of their position within the room. Executive boardrooms required an elevated solution to support high-level meetings and presentations. These spaces were equipped with dual Samsung displays and Shure linear array microphones, providing superior voice capture and improved visibility for both in-room and remote participants.

Individual Focus Rooms were transformed into high-quality personal collaboration environments through the installation of Samsung 55-inch displays and Logitech Rally Bar Huddle systems operating in Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) mode.

Employees can connect their laptops quickly and host private video calls without occupying larger meeting rooms, helping optimise space utilisation across the workplace. The combination of standardised Neat technology and BYOD functionality ensures users can easily participate in Microsoft Teams meetings while retaining the flexibility to join other conferencing platforms when required.

Reimagining the Town Hall Space

One of the most significant elements of the project involved redesigning the AV infrastructure within Landsec’s Town Hall area. Used for company-wide presentations, internal communications, events and large-scale meetings, the space required a highly flexible and scalable solution capable of supporting multiple use cases.

Tateside implemented a Q-SYS-based control platform, providing a powerful and future-proof foundation for system management. A custom-designed iPad control interface allows authorised users to manage the technology intuitively while maintaining a consistent experience across the wider office environment.

The existing video distribution infrastructure was modernised through the deployment of Blustream audio and video-over-IP technology, replacing legacy matrix switching systems and creating a more efficient and scalable platform. Signal routing is managed through a Netgear network switch, while existing loudspeaker infrastructure is powered by Powersoft amplifiers. The integration was completed with PTZ cameras and Q-SYS touchscreen controls, enabling seamless presentations and hybrid events. The move to a Q-SYS and Blustream architecture also delivered operational efficiencies by significantly reducing rack space requirements, helping lower energy consumption while simplifying ongoing maintenance.

Delivering Fully Flexible Project Rooms

The most technically complex aspect of the project centred on Landsec’s Project Rooms, a series of divisible meeting spaces designed to support a wide variety of collaboration requirements. Each room was equipped with a Neat Board and integrated lighting controls, while additional Samsung displays, network-controlled PTZ cameras and a Catchbox wireless microphone were incorporated to support larger presentations and collaborative workshops.

The rooms can operate independently or be combined into larger environments depending on operational requirements. A bespoke control application developed by Tateside enables users to manage room configurations, display routing and system controls through a simple iPad interface. Existing ceiling microphones and loudspeakers were successfully integrated into the new system, allowing Landsec to maximise previous investments while benefiting from a completely modernised AV platform.

Custom Workplace Control and AV Management

To provide greater operational control, Tateside designed and developed a bespoke user interface tailored specifically to Landsec’s requirements and brand identity. The custom application enables facilities and workplace teams to manage networked AV technology throughout the office, including the Town Hall and Project Room environments. Meanwhile, everyday users benefit from a simplified experience that focuses solely on the meeting controls required for their individual spaces. This layered approach ensures advanced functionality remains available when needed without compromising usability for regular employees.

A Future-Ready Workplace Technology Platform

Throughout the project, close collaboration between Tateside and Landsec’s internal IT team ensured the successful deployment of a new networked AV infrastructure without disrupting day-to-day business operations. By combining existing technology assets with modern Neat collaboration systems, a Q-SYS control backbone and a fully integrated AV-over-IP platform, Tateside delivered a workplace technology ecosystem designed to evolve alongside Landsec’s future requirements.
